One of my favourite albums of all time is “Scream Dracula Scream” by Rocket From The Crypt. If you don’t like this album it’s because you have a heart made of stone, or your music taste is different to mine.
Anyways, RFTC ceased functioning as a band a while ago and I have always regretted that I haven’t ever seen a proper Rocket gig. I did once see them support You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, which saw The Strokes as the opening act. But it was a rubbish gig.
Anyways, Speedo and the guys reformed and absolutely bossed the Gorilla club in Manchester.
But I don’t want tell you about them. They have a had plenty of press and it’s unlikely they will release an album and well….shut up it’s my blog.
Instead I want to tell you about The Computers.
These guys were incredible live. They very nearly blew RFTC off the stage. The frontman was a magnificent charismatic presence who won over a whole room of brand new fans.
If you have the opportunity to see them live then get there. Sell your Gran and just get there.
They also covered Elvis. What’s not to like?
By the way RFTC were also wonderful. I grinned all the way through. Thanks gents.
