We don’t talk enough about: Ghostpoet

At the height of his powers Ghostpoet delivers, with his deft drawl, electronic driven stories of depth and daring. Just listen to the eloguent Survive it, particularly the killer chorus ‘I just wanna live life and survive it’. That’s the sort of story that sums up a whole generation. Serious.

Admittedly at his worst Ghostpoet sounds like that unkempt, lost (but oblivious to it) guy on the tube. You know, the one with cheese in his beard and his trousers on inside out. Muttering, slurring about relational problems between him and his fish. A bit harsh perhaps but all the best poets have these tendencies I expect.

So with some trepidation I opened the email heralding his return. Lyrical genius fitted with beats and charm, or Sid Barrett wannabee?

Thankfully MSI MUSMID is the business. GP on top form. Phew. We’re eagerly awaiting more when Some Say I So I Say Light, the second album, is released on the 6th May 2013 through [PIAS].
