The New Division – Kids

The New Division are influenced (by their own admission) by Depeche Mode, New Order and Joy Division. Hence the name, though personally I’d have plugged for Order Joy Mode. Oh well.

They are based in LA, Yankland and were founded in 2005. That’s, like, super old in the ‘hip new band’ stakes, they barely classify but presently everyone (by everyone I mean a few excited spotty, pre-adult Pitchfork wannabees) is getting all Tomorrow’s World about them.

I could pretend that we at SGTMT HQ have been aware of them since their conception, actually, we will pretend that…

Here at SGTMT we’ve been following The New Division since November 2005 when they first started making the music. We know everything about them. We’ve got the t-shirt, we’re in the fan club, scratch that we RUN the fan club. Tom even has The New Division tattooed onto his butt cheeks (don’t read too much into that, actually never read that. If you find yourself reading Tom’s butt cheeks something has gone seriously wrong).
