I own a Rick Wakeman concept album. Nope, no joke. I inherited it from my dad. No, no, don’t worry, he didn’t die. He just doesn’t own a record player anymore (though some elite hipsters might claim that that’s akin to death). So, I got a box full of Vinyl from the late 60s through to early 80s. It’s all there; The Who, The Beatles, Hendrix, Beach Boys, Pink Floyd and a Rick Wakeman concept album based around the Knights of the Round Table. We giggle and mock but we all know that if it was released today the Hype Machine would go crazy for it.
So anyway, me and Rick, Rick and me… where are we going with this? Ah yes, so I also found some Simon & Garfunkel in the collection. My previous experience of Simon & Garfunkel is based on probably illegal Punk covers and endless soundtracks of Rom-Coms (anyone else noticed that they’re NEVER funny. MAKE IT STOP).
I’m still not sure where we’re going with this. Wait, WAIT. I have it! Rick Wakeman (mental) > Simon & Garfunkel (old folk, kinda) > Fossil Collective (new folk, though not nu-folk, that’s something else…)
So, Fossil Collective are back with a new EP which borrows it’s name from the excellent track On & On;
