Charley Bickers – Our Frail Hearts

At team SGTMT we pride ourselves on finding the finest artists on the wwwwebsworld and then writing pointless, mostly unrelated drivel, about whatever takes our fancy alongside some pretty videos and warming tunes. Every now and again some guitar welding genius, or button twizzling superhero bursts onto our blogcious and it all changes. Our make believe stories from SGTMT HQ somehow don’t quite cut the Colmans and we actually write something almost sensible.

So, here it goes…

Charley Bickers delivers a simple yet arresting formula of ‘man with guitar’ genius. ‘We’ve heard it all before’ you cry, and indeed sad looking stubbly men with 6 almost tuned strings do often dominate the blogwaves. However, there is a peculiar lone ranger genius about this chap that somehow stands him apart.

Part of it might be that you’ll struggle to find any current artists that fulfill the role of ‘one man band’ more completely than Charley Bickers. Not only does he write the songs and play the instruments, he also records and produces many of his releases. And it doesn’t stop there, he also makes the videos and designs all the artwork himself. Charley Bickers is from Brighton and has not one but two albums coming out next year. The first is called Our Frail Hearts and lends it’s name to this sublime track released onto the interwebs only yesterday;
