One of the most important albums of my teenage years was Cooper Blue by Sugar. The tunes, the drums, and the guitar that sounded like a swarm of bees attacking a tank. Just pure beauty.
Anyway, Bob Mould of Sugar and Husker Du is back. Maybe Rock has a future after all?
This takes me back to Cooper blue. It is simple pop music with energy, pain and those guitars are back.
There is a whole album out in October
In Bob we trust

Nope, can’t go with you on this one. Thank god, otherwise I thought I might as well delete my life and let you carry the burden onwards. We can still differ over the fine details. But I hope we’ll always remain friends. Incidentally, Alpines are upstairs tweaking ‘Saviour’. There are people who would pay folding money just to stand outside our gate and listen to that. And to them I say [family intervenes, a la the Kate Bush song ... ]
(I have no earthly idea what you are talking about. However, I do appreciate your readership so I shall pretend that I do have an idea)
Hmmmmm Yes. Good point.
Laughing like a drain here.
Feel free to delete my drivel if it annoys. The Kate Bush song is ‘Deeper Understanding’. C’mon, you’re a muso, you should know this stuff!
And basically I am amusing myself, whilst shamelessly plugging my in-house (literally) band, Alpines. That’s ‘Alpines’, not ‘The Alpines’. But I try to do it in an amusing way. I do not wish to offend, confuse or otherwise distract.
You are not annoying.
I have always thought a good blog should be distracting and confusing so you are a very welcome addition to the good ship SGTMT.
And yes I know who Kate Bush is but she pre-dates me a little.
Seriously, I know many ignorant people mock her, but there is real content there, as well as musicianship. If you can listen to ‘Coral Room’ without responding, then “You’re not human tonight, Marlowe.”
