Bear Mountain – Two Step

When I think of Canada I think of bears, mountains and mounties. The first two I find appealing (though I’d approach both with some trepidation), the latter is more peculiar. No-one’s really sure what mounties do. Are they police or the army? Are they like beefeaters? Do they take orders at McDonald’s drive-throughs? Who knows (Canadians I guess). So, it seems poetically precise that this Vancouver based electronica gang (the brain-child of Ian Bevis) are known simply as Bear Mountain. Canadian to the core or summat less cheesy.

To be honest, I couldn’t give a couple of hoots about the geographical origin of an artist (though I will instantly delete any emails I receive from Peruvian metal bands). As long as it’s a good tune we’ll let it spin on the SGTMT jukebox.

Two Step comes ahead of xo; a seven track EP out in a few weeks.
