Efterklang – Dreams Today (Piramida LP teaser)

June 26, 2012

Oh boy! Efterklang are back!

The Danish band release their new Piramidia LP at the end of September and have released a teaser (they’re all the rage these days) of what to expect:

It seems we should expect to see the band, now a trio, climbing into creepy abandoned shafts in order to capture the atmosphere (we saw similarly dedicated activities in their An Island film which showed the band recording sounds in the forest and farm buildings).

We can briefly hear Dreams Today from 1:24 and it sounds just as we’d hoped; delicate and beautiful.

Efterklang began recording their new LP last year on an expedition to an abandoned Russian settlement on an Arctic island near the North Pole. As well as more polar bears than people, the abandoned ghost town Piramida which gives the record its name is home to the world’s northernmost piano. They don’t do things by halves do they?

Well, the teaser has done its job; we’re excited to hear the album!

Efterklang are also taking Piramida on tour, with full orchestra. When we saw them play last year we were smitten and we recommend you get involved! Have a look here for dates and tickets. See you at the Barbican show in London chaps!

Piramidia LP is due on 24th September on 4AD in the UK and on the 25th in the US. Efterklang’s own Rumraket imprint will release the LP in Scandanavia. Keep an eye on the band and pre-order Piramidia at the band’s website.
