Deap Vally – Gonna Make My Own Money

Some evenings you just need some angry blues, you concur? Even better than that angry girl blues from the San Fernando Valley (I don’t know where that is but I’m sure it’s just lovely). So, if angry girl blues is up your street (if your street is in the San Fernando Valley) then you’ll go wild for Deap Vally.

Apparently Deap Vally met at needlework class. By starting that sentence with ‘apparently’ it makes it seem like I doubt the validity of that encounter. My apologies, I’m sure it happened (yeah, right). They’ve opened for one of Josh Homme’s bands, which admittedly is a fairly shallow claim to fame as Mr Homme has about 15 bands and they all suck. On a positive note they’re spinning round a bunch of the UK festivals in the summer and that follows playing Coachella earlier this year.
