Keep an eye on… French Wives

First things first, the title of this blog post is an unintended pun. I apologise for any offence caused. Of course only French Husbands should be ‘keeping an eye on’ French Wives (and preferably their own), anything other than this is quite improper.

Putting that faux pas aside (note my use of French there, I’m a funny guy) let’s concentrate on this emerging Scottish act French Wives.

French Wives have been slowly growing an audience since their beginnings back in 2008 and they’re now ready to launch themselves on the big wide world with their debut album Dream of the Inbetween due out on the 7th May. To whet our appetites they’ve released Younger (listen below) which is currently streaming but will be available to download for FREE from the 27th Feb. Wowzers.

Though they’ve not yet released their first album, their sound suggests a maturity beyond their musical years. The most striking point of Younger is the regretful refrain ‘I wish I had started younger’. That one’s gonna eat a little.

My knowledge of French Wives (stop the sniggering) is somewhat limited but I like what I’ve heard so far. If we can get our mits on the album we’ll bang a review up. More please.
