Three momentous things are occurring: 1 – We’re back in the groove following the Christmas break, did you miss is? 2 – We’re embracing the HTML5 widget on SoundCloud, neat huh? 3 – We’ve stumbled across this great New Jersey based band (courtesy of our chums at Listen Before You Buy), Brick + Mortar.
Despite hailing from the East Coast of the US, Brick + Mortar sound freakishly English, to be more specific they sound Northern; half Manc (think Stone Roses) & half Yorkshire (think Arctic Monkeys). Odd I know. For someone whose never lived north of Bedford and now resides firmly on the south coast I retain a certain, how do I describe it, ‘disquiet’ about Northerners. They tend to be gruffly obnoxious, smelly and permanently irritated by some sort of anti-Thatcher induced inferiority complex. Apart from that they’re alright though.
Fortunately Brick + Mortar aren’t northern (at least in the English sense), so I’ll stop harping on…
At present I know no details of future releases, tour dates or any other plans but I’m eager to hear more. Enjoy:
