Beau and the Arrows – 0.7.9.3

It’s rare you’ll find a music video featuring a grumpier looking set of 14 year olds. Who stole their lunch money? Or did they leave their PE kit at home and they’ll have to wear the lost property instead? Maybe it’s just because Steve Lamacq likes their music but he looks a bit to much like creepy uncle Trevor and they’re all just a little scared…

Whatever the cause of the morose new single from Beau and the Arrows they should be comforted by the knowledge they’ve created a driving, gripping, ceaselessly splendid song in 0.7.9.3. These pups from Woolwich, London are slowly beginning to make some waves with previous single Fix (below) and now this new tune (out on the 13th June) getting coverage from indie grandfather Lamacq on 6music. Sadly I missed them at The Great Escape but they’re hitting a few London venues over the coming months if you’re interested:

Friday 27th May – Dirty South, Lewisham – w/ Two Wounded BIrds
Wednesday 15th June – The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town
Tuesday 28th June – The Old Blue Last, Shoreditch
Thursday 7th July – The Silver Bullet, Finsbury Park
Wednesday 3rd August – The Old Queen’s Head, Islington
