The Great Escape – Preview of Previews

Tomorrow heralds the start of the 3-day Brighton music festival The Great Escape. I wanted to write our own preview of the festivities but for two very important reasons I decided not to: 1) There are several out there already which are loads better than anything I could muster. 2) I couldn’t be bothered and decided it would be easier to rip off what they’d written instead.

So here are some of the best previews out there:

Breaking More Waves has previewed each day and provides a great guide on how to get the most out of the event (see the Thursday post): Thursday; Friday; Saturday

My Bands Better Than Your Band also seem to have started a series of day by day previews. See Thursday’s here.

Faded Glamour are also doing daily previews. Read Thursday.

Over at the NME they’ve picked out their top twenty picks for the festival. Ed Sheeran seems a dubious choice…

Just Music That I Like have fired up two previews. Part 1 & Part 2.

The Recommender chaps have decided to share their band schedule on Google Docs. I’m guessing the highlighted ones are their ‘picks’.

Of course don’t forget the main event preview itself in handy PDF form

Finally, just cos I couldn’t resist here are my top 5 slightly random picks;

Foster The People on Thursday at The Haunt 8.45pm

Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People

The Joy Formidable on Thursday at Hectors House at 10.30pm

Dinosaur Pile Up on Friday at Jam at 9.45pm

MONA LISA by DINOSAUR PILE-UP

EMA on Saturday at the Shipwrights Yard at 4pm and Horatios at 8.30pm

EMA – Milkman by souterraintransmissions

Braids on Saturday at Komedia (upstairs) at 3.15pm and Horatios at 7.45pm

Braids – Lemonade by All Tomorrows Parties
